Cracks in the System

A crack in the legal system is that if immigrant populations are being victimized, language and cultural barriers and distance to potential sources of valuable testimony can hamstring the justice system. But potentially:

1. Identify a set of victims from a particular demographic who fit a pattern suggesting related crimes.

2. Set up a bilingual contact person to help facilitate gathering evidence from that community locally.

3. Contact the embassy for that demographic and ask for assistance in collecting and translating statements from people back home who may know something relevant to the case, sometimes about someone who may have died or disappeared.
