Mo

Jack had money and wasn't showing up. I got tired of this game and hooked up with a guy I nicknamed Mo.

I met Mo online. I happened to be homeless and so was he, though he was temporarily staying with family. I told him "I need some attention and I'm hoping you will give it to me."

He starts off telling me "I don't want a girlfriend." and I was like "I'm not looking for a relationship either. Just give me your attention THIS week."

He later changed his tune and wanted to meet me. I was reluctant to agree to that.

He sold me on the idea by convincing me he likes to travel, hadn't been to the West Coast in a while and will just go out and happen to meet me real casual like.

I was like "Fine. If you just want to come out and meet for coffee, no big deal, I'll meet you."

So he goes to great lengths to get my agreement and then doesn't leave. Next conversation, he's all "My friends are trying to protect me from you."

Me: Well, stay there. No big.

Then he's telling me he isn't traveling that far without a COMMITMENT from me to be his girlfriend.

Me: I just met you a month ago. That's not happening. Just stay there.

Next message: "Hon, I'm on the road already and NEVER saw your last message before now. What do you want me to do?"

Without breaking it down, somewhere in there he lied to me. There were conflicting statements such that at least ONE was a LIE, though I don't know which one.

I was extremely sick and yadda, this bullshit game dragged on for another six weeks. He eventually arrived in Las Vegas.

So two months and some change after telling me that although homeless, unlike Jack, he's a man of action and gets shit done and can be there in a matter of DAYS and rattling off multiple options for how he might do so, he's still not there.

I finally imposed up on what semblance of "friends" I had to help me to tell him "We're through" and actually make it stick in spite of how impaired I was.

He spent a year in Vegas before his mom picked him up, took him home and stuck him in a new addition to his brother's house where they convinced him it was coincidence etc.

We talked again at a later date and two things happened.

First, he pulled the exact same shit of talking me into something and promptly wanting anything but that.

Second, I learned he was a smoker and toker and never told me KNOWING I have life threatening respiratory problems.

Some men have issues.

And no man ever shows up.

I've tried giving men in all kinds of situations the chance to put up or shut up. Money or no money, commitments and etc or footloose and fancy free, they don't show up.

Sometimes because I get tired of hearing their bullshit and tell them I've had quite enough, thanks.
