The Lose Lose Proposition

I was acquainted with a gal, kind of a friend of a friend situation, who spent a few thousand dollars to travel to a third world country and get two pounds of fat removed via liposuction and six months later had some kind of infection and was prescribed steroids. She STOPPED taking the steroids and didn't finish the course of treatment after putting on ten pounds.

She also couldn't keep a man in spite of her superficial vanity. Talk behind her back from various people included:

1. So now she's got multiple SCARS from the liposuction AND is fatter than when this began? (That was from a guy.)
2. For that kind of money, she could have gone to the most expensive salon in the big city she lives in and gotten a fabulous haircut PLUS replaced her entire wardrobe. THAT would have lasted at least six months.
3. So with all her cosmetic surgeries, she only looks good in clothes AND can't keep a man? I know how to keep a man and I'm not covered in surgical scars so I look better than her naked though I'm older.

I read a story once about an older woman who got a tummy tuck and breast lift and whatever, probably while getting divorced, and went on spree of picking up younger men because she could and after sex asking how old they thought she was. Her new bad habit ended when one of them knew too much about things like cosmetic surgeries and guessed her age correctly.

Women are just POISONED by this Hollywood mentality that makes far too many people on planet Earth imagine photoshopped images of professional models on billboards and in magazines are what real women really look like.

Reality: even the models who posed for that garbage don't actually look that way.

It's art designed to sell stuff, not a reasonable standard of beauty to which women should try to hold themselves. And yet many do try to do that, often at great cost both financially and in other ways.

And I despair of ever making any headway on walking any of this back because, for example, there are far fewer female character actors than male character actors. If you're a woman and not beautiful, you're nothing.

And if you're a woman and you are beautiful, you're merely a sex object. It's a no win situation for women.
