Erin Brockovich
Double Surprise, plus showing George what he helped do
I love the first scene in this clip. It may be my favorite all-time movie scene and I sincerely hope it's a fairly accurate representation of events from a movie that's not actually a documentary.
The whole movie is good though I have read George was REALLY Jorge but we can't have a Hispanic love interest, I guess. (Maybe modern Americans are unfamiliar with I love Lucy.)
If I were posting movie clips to YouTube, I would rather make the "Double Surprise" scene the second scene following her initial meeting with Theresa where she says to her "That's all you got: Two wrong feet in ugly shoes"
But the Internet never has the clips I like best, no, so I can't find EXACTLY what I want and this clip will do.
I absolutely LOVE the detail that the Black guy quietly giggles. He Gets It.
Bonus points: I'm an environmental studies major and no matter how inaccurate, this movie was based on real world events and the titular character was a beauty queen and divorced single mom when she became the unintentional instigator of this case that was important enough to merit a movie about it.
I'm always looking for good role models and it's hard to find career women to whom I can relate as someone who was purportedly gorgeous in my youth and a full-time wife and mom for many years.
